After John Houlihan and won the largest prize to date, in 1984, on The Joker's Wild, hitting a natural tripple during his fourth episode, he continued on to his fifth episode trying to win a new car. He had to identify a famous person by their picture. Unfortunately, he said "Shield" and not "Shields." The show was stopped for some time as they checked the tape. They came back and did not award him the question. Flustered, he was unable to recover and lost the chance to win the car.
